“Sweater Girl” pinup prints by artist Susan Heidi now available for purchase

Posted by Susan Heidi - May 30th, 2008

Prints of my painting of Kay O’Hara titled “Sweater Girl” are now available for purchase in my on-line gallery. I’ve also begun updating my gallery pages with a new, more user-friendly checkout that features a pull-down menu for print size selection and an area to enter a dedication if you’d like to personalize your print. The choice for unsigned prints has been removed since there wasn’t much interest in unsigned prints from collectors who buy direct from my website. Larger orders by wholesalers can still be filled with unsigned prints.

Live from New York Comic Con with Artist Susan Heidi on Catch Da Craze

Posted by Susan Heidi - May 29th, 2008

Catch Da Craze TV has posted the interview I did with Michele St. Martin at the NY Comic Con this past April. I look exhausted (but still enthusiastic about my work!) and my voice is almost gone - didn’t I tell you it was a super busy and exhausting weekend? Catch Da Craze is a weekly show dedicated to the support and promotion of Independent Publishers, Artists, Writers, Musicians and more.
I’ve posted the interview on the what’s new page of my website. Thanks again to Michele for catching up with me :)

Susan Heidi pinups featured on Dead Sexy Pinups blog

Posted by Susan Heidi - May 22nd, 2008

Pinup artist Mark Wasyl was kind enough to feature my work on his new blog titled Dead Sexy Pinups. Mark’s blog features artists, models, and photographers who specialize in the pinup genre. Not only can you view the entries, but there’s a rating system and you can leave comments - hint, hint ;)

Mark’s pinups have an edgy, rocker girl look created in tantalizingly brilliant color that you have to check out on his website dropdeadsexypinups.com

top 10 retro pinup models ranked by askmen.com

Posted by Susan Heidi - May 20th, 2008

I’m ecstatic that askmen.com decided to do a feature on modern retro pinup models. They even took on what I think is an impossible task of ranking the top 10 retro pinups. I’m ecstatic for all the gals that made the list - big congrats! - but feel especially proud of the five models on the list that I’ve had the pleasure of painting: Sabina Kelley (2), Heidi Van Horne (5), Kim Falcon (6), Kay O’Hara (7), and Zoe Scarlett (8). I’m not going to comment of the rankings, because of course I think there are so many modern pinups deserving of recognition. The best thing about this article is that it brings the work they do to a much larger audience.
