I was saddened to learn this morning that pinup artist and creator of “The Rocketeer” Dave Stevens, who famously drew Bettie Page as the Rocketeer’s girlfriend and is credited with the resurgance of Bettie as a pop culture icon, passed away on Tuesday at the untimely age of 52 after a long battle with leukemia. My condolences go out to all of Dave’s family, friends, and fans. As a tribute to Dave, I’ve posted two of his works here that you are probably very familiar with.
